The Space Between is where life begins when you embrace change, and for me, that change has arrived in the most empowering ways. A new chapter, a new season, a new sense of self.
It’s strange how life can turn so quietly and unexpectedly. One morning you wake up and realise everything has changed — and you, too, are changing in ways you never expected. The space between what was and what’s to come is where I’m finally starting to find clarity. I’ve been standing here for a while, unsure of where to focus my energy. After a month-long trip back to the UK, things are shifting, and I think — no, I know — I’m finding my way again.
Choices and change
What I’m describing isn’t just coincidence — it’s a personal awakening. I made one hard, brave choice, and that seems to have opened up space for other life-shifting opportunities to flow in. This isn’t serendipity alone — it’s alignment, born from clarity and courage.
This year I’ve experienced three big shifts — the personal change, deciding to go back to Uni one random morning, and just yesterday, being offered a new position at work. That first bold move seemed to unlock the rest — the other pieces started falling into place.
Leaving behind a long-term chapter of your life takes immense strength, especially when it means stepping into the unknown. Returning to learning shows a deep desire to grow and reconnect with my identity. Shifting careers after nearly three decades? That’s reinvention (Or should that be Rhi-invention?!) — not just change. And now, focusing on my future and what brings me personal joy, I’m finally starting to write the book I’ve carried in my heart for years.
Transformation
Why do these things happen? Perhaps this is life’s way of realigning me, of handing me back my spark. Call it serendipity but one thing I know for sure — I’m not just finding myself, I’m actively creating myself again.
The space between old and new chapters of your life can be where you’re most vulnerable, but also where the magic happens. Trust the process. Embrace the uncertainty, and know that with each small step, the picture becomes clearer.
Australia has never felt like home in the 6.5 years I’ve been here, but now, for the first time, I feel like I have a real purpose here.
New Beginnings
This fresh start is about choosing me — and the people and passions that matter most. It’s about my kids, my book, my studies, and my work.
There’s a certain freedom that comes with starting over. You know what matters. You’ve worn the scars. Now it’s time to wear the courage too and just go for it.
Welcome to the beautiful beginning of my new life — and the new me. Cheers to that.
