Life has an interesting way of coming full circle. Sometimes, we find ourselves revisiting the passions and pursuits of our younger days, reigniting the flames of our youth.
There’s nothing better than discovering a newfound appreciation for the things that once brought us immense joy. Remembering my journey back into the thrilling world of motorsport after 25 years and rediscovering and the lesson it has taught me – to live for younger days.
Way back then
When I was younger, my life revolved around the racetrack. The rumble of engines, the roar of a wide-open throttles, the smell of burning rubber, the view from the pit garage, and the adrenaline coursing through my veins were all I knew. I spent 25 years dedicating myself to the art of motorsport. It was more than a job; it was a hobby, a way of life. But as life often does, it took me in different directions, leading me to Australia and away from the racetrack I once called home.
Until now, the memories of my time on the track have lingered in my mind. I often reminisce about the adrenaline rushes, the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts, and the sheer thrill of pushing the limits. But these memories remain in the past, mere echoes of a time long gone. Until recently.
Doing a work deal with a Motocross team was a spark reigniting the flames of a dormant passion. I found myself back at the track, connecting with people, making new friends, and the instant adrenaline rush was as addictive as ever. It was as if I had been transported back to my younger days, and I realised that it’s never too late to rekindle the passions that once fuelled our hearts.
The Lesson
This journey back into motorsport has taught me a valuable lesson – that we should live for our younger days. Not in the sense of dwelling on the past, but in cherishing the passions, interests, and dreams that made our youth so special.
In my case, returning to motorsport was like reconnecting with an old friend, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a reminder that no matter how far life takes you from your younger days, there’s always a path back to what once made your heart race with excitement.
Live for Younger Days
So, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the passions of your younger days. What made you come alive? What made your heart race? And then, make a plan to rediscover that joy. Embrace the present, cherish the past, and live for younger days. After all, age is just a number, and the thrill of your passions is timeless.
